An innovator in the discipline of government relations for post-secondary education, Norine has forged a reputation as having a keen eye for detail, an imagination to solve the most difficult issues and a champion of students and institutions alike. Her many accomplishments are highlighted below.  
Legislative
  • Working with the Staff Director of the House Ways & Means Committee, successfully amended the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 to extend educational benefits to students attending all sectors of higher educati

  • Mounted an initiative to exempt regionally accredited collegiate institutions from state legislative oversight by amending state and assembly education bill

  • Amended the Higher Education Act to allow educational institutions to utilize equity in land and buildings to meet specific financial ratios required by the U.S. Department of Education to demonstrate financial strength

  • Received Association of Independent Colleges and Schools First Place Public Relations Award for “Credit For My Vette”

  • Appointed by the Secretary of Education to the National Advisory Committee on Accreditation and Institutional Eligibility. Reappointed for a second two-year term

  • Formal addresses given before Consumer Bankers Association, American Association of Community and Junior Colleges, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, National Council for Higher Education Loan Programs, National Federation of Republican Women

  • Appointed by the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives to the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance. Reappointed for a second three-year term

Creative Works
  • Executive Producer of “Brenda Bankruptcy,” a financial fable DVD series emphasizing personal fiscal responsibility.

  • Produced and wrote the video “College Costs” with Representative Buck McKeon (R-CA) and Senator Jim Jeffords (R-VT).

  • Wrote, produced, and funded through corporate banking institutions “Credit ForMy ‘Vette,” A five-minute music video to counsel students on the importance of loan repayment. National distribution to over 3,000 colleges and universities.

  • Wrote and directed “Default Detours” video presentation on loan defaults with representation from the Consumer Bankers Association, the U.S. Department of Education and members of Capitol Hill.

  • Authored articles in the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools magazine, the Creative Service magazine, and the Journal of Career Development. Authored “Default Detours,” a handbook designed for aid administration to assist in promoting student loan repayment (A resource for 3,200 colleges).
