Biography

Norine Fuller, a resident of Virginia, works as a Washington, DC lobbyist specializing in higher education financing, accreditation and financial literacy issues.  Norine is Executive Director of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), Washington, D.C., a California based college specializing in educating domestic and international students for careers in the fashion, entertainment and design industries. She maintains an office in Los Angeles, where she also serves as FIDM’s Executive Director of Student Financial Services. Norine was appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in December 2001 to the National Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance. She was reappointed by the Speaker in September 2004 for another three-year term and in 2007 was asked by the Secretary of Education to continue her service.  Norine was previously appointed by the Secretary of Education to the National Advisory Committee on Accreditation and Institutional Eligibility, and served for two two-year terms. She developed and funded national student loan default management seminars, books, and videos with educators, lenders, guaranty agencies, and the U.S. Department of Education. She has also testified as an expert witness on higher education matters before the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Norine is a member of the Board of the Republican Women’s Federal Forum, and serves on the Executive Committee of the California State Society. Since 2006, she has performed weekly community service work with the Aleethia Foundation and Walter Reed Army Medical Center patients.  Norine holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Norine is featured in Capitol File Magazine as one of the five Washingtonians influencing the future of fashion.
